I was trapped for many years. I knew something was wrong. But I had no idea how to fix it. I was angry, deeply sad and generally miserable. A ticking bomb with a broken timer that I couldn’t control.

When you get out of a trap, you are exhilarated and overwhelmed. You celebrate and cry with joy and sadness. Joy because you are finally out and sadness that you had to go through it all.

If I was to erase my experience in the prison of my pain, I would have to take away the lessons too. So I decided to learn to live with what happened to me. In the process, a version of my life emerged that was once a distant dream but is now my current joyful reality.
